Today we're going to take a look at the rubber grommet mounting kit for the Peterson 2 1/2" round recessed mount trailer lights. Now this rubber mounting grommet will let you recess mount a 2 1/2" Peterson sealed trailer light. It is designed to fit the Peterson 142, 143, 162, 163, and the 172 series lights. If you notice, this has a nice open back design here, allows easy running of any wiring. Also offers a hole right here in the side, if you have any wiring it comes down the side. This rubber grommet will provide additional shock absorption to extend the life of your light.
Comes with the two pronged plug, with a power lead, and a ground wire, make your connections. Length on the leads are about six inches.Now this grommet is a recessed mount design, requires a 2 25/32 diameter hole to be drilled, to install it. Once you drill the hole, this grommet will just push into that hole, and then the light pushes into the grommet for a nice, secure nut fit. These parts are made in the USA. Overall diameter edge to edge is 3 1/4 inches. Total depth is 1 3/16 of an inch, and the inside diameter is 2 1/2 inches.But that should do it for the review on the rubber grommet mounting kit for the Peterson 2 1/2" round recessed mount trailer lights.

- Measureing Light Grommet Size for Round Trailer LightsI am sorry but at this time we do not stock a light grommet for a 3 inch round light. I checked with our supplier and they do not have a grommet for a 3 inch light either. If you are measuring the hole the grommet and light mounts in then you may have a 2-1/2 inch light and the mounting hole is 3 inches or close to it. This is a 2-1/2 inch x 3/4 inch round light with 3 LED diodes and has an amber lens. The grommet and pigtail for this light is sold separately and is part # 162-18K.
