Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light
The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.
PC-Rated Lights
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.
Recessed-Mount Light
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Video Transcript for Review of Peterson Trailer Lights - Clearance Lights - 425850
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Peterson Trailer Clearance Light. This is going to be a nice round lens, amber light to help you stay visible out on the road, and also stay compliant with all DOT laws. We'll have our two prongs to the back, so that we can get that mounted up to any of our wiring harnesses that look the same. It's a standard size, so there's a lot of different little wiring harnesses that'll work with this. Just plug that into the back. It does come with some dielectric grease on there, so you might notice there's some sticky stuff.
That's just to help keep that connection. It helps to keep those prongs from any kind of corrosion, so it's a more water tight seal, and also keeps them from rusting out. Now, we'll disconnect our wires, have white to ground, black to power, then we can show you what this bulb looks like when it's lit up.Flipping on my power source here. You can see our single bulb will light up. It is an incandescent bulb, and doesn't really look like that lens can be taken off, so as far as maintenance, pretty much just as you see it there, you might be able to pry that cover off, but probably would be better off just to replace the whole light if that bulb ever does burn out on you.
I'm going to turn the lights out in the studio so you can get a better idea of how bright that is in low light situations. So, even with just that single bulb, it's still fairly bright, so that'll provide a warning to other drivers to see where the perimeter of our trailer is. I'll turn off my power. Disconnect the plug at the back here. And let's go over some measurements.
It measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, that's going from this more flared out edge at the bottom or the back of the light depending on how you want to look at it, and then it stands about 3/4 inch tall. Overall, really nice, easy to use light that should get you back out, and on the road. And that's going to do it for our look at the Peterson Trailer Clearance Light.
