Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at the replacement four-way flat wiring harness for your hitch mounted taillight kits. So this is designed to be used with your LED light kits here from etrailer.com. If you get the kit, you'll have this wiring included but if you lose, damage, or need to replace, this is gonna be your exact replacement part. This utilizes a three prong plug and depending on passenger's or driver's side, you're gonna use this with your lights. So notice how well it fits into the appropriate light kit.
Not all lights will have this kind of setup so just double check our product page and make sure it matches yours. This is a Y harness, where you have one side with a green wire for the passenger side and the other has yellow for the driver's side and it is gonna be an uneven harness with the passenger side being longer than the driver's side. The overall length of the wire is going to be eight feet and seven inches long. Now the driver's side though, that is going to be shorter, and that's gonna be five feet and one inch long. That length fits most of your hitch-mounted cargo carriers, but if needed you can get a 12 inch extension here at etrailer.
This is a four-way flat harness meaning it simulates your vehicle's lights, so whether it's your brake lights, your driver side blinkers or your passenger side blinkers, or your hazards. Just as your car lights up, so does your carrier. Since this is a universal add-on it won't be as neat as integrated lights on your carrier. So make sure to grab some zip ties to make this as low profile and as sleek as you want. If you are using this with some other lights or product pages, add this video will help you out with seeing if you have the right match.

This product lasted a year. You should have a more heavy duty option comparable to the original factory product.

Optronics cargo carrier light harness worked perfectly for my application for an add on set of lights for my SUV. Paired this wire harness with a pair of PL-3 6.5 inch oval amber lights to add turn signals on my rooftop cargo basket. Used a 4 flat splitter and added a six foot wire loom to complete the installation. Quality product at a great price. Product video also helped make for quick install.

Easy to use harness. Plenty of length for wiring brake lights on a cargo carrier. One side is way longer than the other. I cut it down since I didn’t need the extra length the way I routed the wires.

If some of the functions worked on the light then I would say that you have a problem with the wiring somewhere. You can test the light by running a ground to the marked pin and then test the other 2 pins with a 12V power source.
