Video Transcript for Review of Fulton Trailer Winch Parts - F501001

Hello, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Fulton Winch Wire Rope Keeper. Now this wire rope keeper for Fulton Winches is gonna be used to wire your rope or cable. It will not convert a winch that uses straps only. You must use this only with a wire rope or cable, and it has to be made for that. Now this will replace older wire rope keepers, part numbers 5621P01, and part number 5621-01.

So again, this is the new part number 501001, the Fulton Winch Wire Rope Keeper. This is Steven with etrailer.com. Thanks for taking a look today with me at the Fulton Winch Wire Rope keeper. Have a good day.

The price was right and now I don't have to worry about bleeding from broken wires in the old cable.

This was just the right part. etrailer did a great job with the order and timely delivery. I have completed my trailer repair and await the next sailing season.

Tried to get this part from West Marine... 3 weeks later and no part! Ordered same part from etrailer and... part was quickly received and already installed! Replacement part fit perfectly and etrailer followed up.

Assembled the parts on my winch in minutes. They held the cable in place. Price was fair.

This product is as advertised and fits well on Fulton winches. Will work great with smaller diameter wire ropes (1/4" or less), but is a little snug on larger diameter wire ropes.

Parts ordered exactly as pictured arrived promptly

  • Replacement Winch for Fulton T1401 With Worn Ratcheting Pawl
We don't have a ratchet replacement kit for your T1401 model we only have smaller capacity or two speed options that aren't a confirmed fit for that winch. It has been discontinued so as a replacement I recommend the Fulton Single Speed Trailer Winch - 8" Long Handle - 1,500 lbs # F142201. The slightly smaller option is the Fulton Single Speed Winch - 8" Long Handle - 1,300 lbs # F142104. If you need a larger capacity, you can use the Fulton High-Performance Brake Winch - Cable Only -...

  • What Size Cable Can I Use on a Fulton Model 542 Boat Winch
I may have a solution for you, but there's not a lot of information available about the Fulton 542 winch since it's been discontinued for some time. I was able to find out that your winch can accept 1/4" diameter cable, up to 70' long. A good replacement for that would be to use the Hand Winch Cable with Safety Hook 1/4" Diameter x 50' Long - 3,500 lbs # DL24104, which is the longest cable we have available. When it comes to the Fulton Winch Wire Rope Keeper # F501001, I've attached a...

  • Replacement Spring for the Fulton T1401 Trailer Winch
I spoke to my contact at Fulton about your Fulton T1401 winch and they informed me that this winch is only compatible with a strap and cannot be converted for use with a cable. Therefore, the Fulton Winch Wire Rope Keeper part # F501001 will not work for you. The Replacement Spring for Fulton Winch part # 4769-28 is however the correct spring for this winch.

  • How to Determine What Size Boat that a Winch Can Pull
The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake # F142430 that you referenced has a 3,700 lbs weight capacity. The size and weight of the boat that it can pull really depends on what your boat trailer setup is like. A boat to winch size capacity is typically 2 to 1 which means that this particular winch should typically be able to pull a 7,000 lb boat. If you have good rollers and a short distance to pull then that could make the ratio 3 to 1. If you have wooden bunks...
