go power inverter

This 24V inverter changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power so you can plug in tools and appliances. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. Plus, the inverter can generate 800 starting watts and 400 running watts which is a great fit for small appliances and electronics.

Functions and Features

go power inverter

The inverter includes 2 GFCI outlets for AC loads, positive and negative DC input terminals that connect to your batteries, and a port for a fixed-mount remote (sold separately). It has a function switch that lets you select different frequencies (50Hz and 60Hz). This switch can also turn the power saver on and off. Additionally, the power saving adjustment dial near the function switch sets the input and wake up thresholds for the power saver.

The system includes a number of safety features. It offers protection from over/under voltage, overloading, and overcurrent. The inverter also uses a heat sink process to protect from extreme temperatures, and an internal cooling fan removes excess heat from the unit.

fuse block

For additional safety, installing a fuse between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges. The Go Power 60-amp fuse block (sold separately) works with this unit and uses a slow blow time-delay feature to withstand surge current. This means it can handle short surges over 60 amps without blowing the fuse, which is great for devices with motors that require more energy to start.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed in close proximity to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment. The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank.

Available Fixed-Mount Remotes Provide Easy Monitoring and Control

There are 2 fixed-mount remotes (sold separately) that let you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV.

GP-SWR-A inverter remote

For a simple, no-frills option, the Go Power GP-SWR-A Inverter Remote lets you turn your inverter on and off from inside your RV. It also has a LED which indicates the inverter's status.

GP-ISW-R-12 inverter remote

For additional features, the Go Power GP-ISW-R-24 Inverter Remote provides LED indicators that display the voltage, output power, inverter status, power saving mode status, and fault conditions. It also has a power button that controls the inverter.

Today we're going to take a look at the Go Power 24-Volt 400-Watt Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter. This 400-watt pure sine wave inverter will provide A/C power for electronics and appliances. This will change your battery's D/C output into a nice, clean A/C power, and sends it to the RV's electrical system. The software's pure sine wave technology, which will provide clean power, low distortion. This will replicate household A/C power, and allows you to run A/C devices safely and efficiently, including sensitive electronics. It has built-in safety features which will protect your RV's electrical system. It offers current protection for reverse polarity, over/under voltage, short circuiting, overloading, and overheating. On this end it'll have a nice cooling fan which will control the temperature of the inverter and removes any excess heat generated by the unit.It also has a three-position switch right here on the front.

It'll be for on, off, and then if you push it down it's for the remote. It does have an LED indicator right here above the switch, shows power and volt conditions. It has multiple connection points to let you secure cables and external devices to the inverter. Right up here you can see it includes the two GFCI A/C outlets. On the other end it has the D/C input terminals and the remote port right up here. It does offer a fixed mount remote, which we do sell separately on our website, it's part number 34280231, and that remote will let you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV.They also offer a fuse block installation kit.

Again, it's sold separately on our website, it's part number 342GPDCKIT3. This will let you safely connect the inverter to your RV battery, helps protect your electrical system during power use.Application for this, again, is 24-volt battery systems. The rated power on this, the running rate power output, is 400 watts. Starting surge power output is 800 watts. Voltage on this, maximum power, is 24 volts D/C.

Input voltage is 20-32 volts D/C, output voltage 100-120 volts A/C. Temperature ranges for this unit, operating range is -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Storage range is -22 degrees Fahrenheit to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. It does include the inverter, the two ring terminals right here that are used to connect your D/C to your D/C connections right here, and a nice user's manual that'll describe how to make your connection and how this inverter operates. Weight on this unit is only 3 1/2 pounds.A few dimensions, the length, I am going to include these D/C covers right back here, if we go from the edge of the covers to the other end, 8 5/16 inches long. The width, we'll measure the mounting tab sticking out, overall width is 5 15/16 inches wide.

And the overall height from the bottom to the very top is 2 11/16 inches tall. That should do it for the review on the Go Power 24-Volt 400-Watt Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter.

This product is reliable and works well to the stated 400 watts when the load is steady. I like that this unit works well with my 29.4V DC battery pack (7S). Past 250 watts, even small surges will trip the unit off. At around 250 watts(steady) my quart compressor cooler will kill AC power out when it kicks on. It appears that the 600 watt surge rating is inaccurate.

My fridge has been working non-stop for over a year! I run it 247 as my main fridge. It is powered by the pure sine wave inverter bought around the same time.

by:

One year + later, this inverter is great! I have it connected to two battleborn lithium batteries. We can run our TV although we don’t much, our Microware, or our coffee Kirin machine - of course not all at once. The fan is a bit noisy but it only fires up when drawing heavy from the inverter. Love it and recommend it.

by:

Good advice to help decide which inverter is right for us. Really fast shipping and delivery.

by:

I am always amazed at how well the team and eTrailer service customers. The communication from product purchase to delivery is exceptional. Price/value of products is highly appreciated as well. I always save time and money when going to eTrailer to find parts for my Lance 2445 Trailer.

by:

Works great, the unit is powering a work shed in the backyard. The Inverter is paired up with 400w of solar and two battleborn 100a batteries. The unit replaced a 3000w inverter from another company that fried twice within a year.

by:

I have this installed and the included remote does not work as described in the instructions. When not connected to shore power the remote shows the charger function on yet the instructions say this is not an option.

Also, I changed the power saver mode to 15 minutes from the default off. I didn’t see a change in the remote output after several hours.

Less than 10 days after I ordered this etrailer dropped the price $XXX.XX. That’s not insignificant and they wouldn’t do anything for me about it.

by:

I replaced my magnum that went out due to a wiring issue. It was easy to replace for the most part although the wire to the controll panel was 6 wire and the old one was 4. It works very well. All I lost was the self start of the old one. Very good product.

by:

Inverter failed around the one year mark with light use. 1 star for that but 3 stars overall because of GoPowers customer service who provided a replacement without trouble.

by:

Installed last year in a horse trailer with living quarters. Using with a pair of Dakota lithium batteries. Works great. Powers Microwave with ease. love the ability to pull from battery while also using generator; i can run both microwave and coffee maker together like this.

Points of note:
1) When inverter is turned on there is a quiet weird chirp occasionally. If you're a light sleeper sensitive to sounds, be prepared for a "what is that?" if it is installed in the LQ area.
2) If batteries are full and i plug in my Furman generator (Costco purchased from Costco), the generator gets tripped in to overload when float charging is enabled. Not an issue when charging batteries.

by:

Product works designed. It was professionally installed along with instant hot water and 4 vmax tanks.

by:

Perfect to charge phones, computers, and other electronic items with off grid. And use my CPAP.

by:

etrailer always does great!

by:

Great price and very fast shipping. Best place for all your trailer needs

by:

We are currently working on hooking up the inverter we ordered from etrailer for the maiden voyage in our new trailer. It appeared these items would not be arriving before we left, but after a quick phone call to etrailer and a conversation with Steve Z. in customer service our inverter was on it's way by 10:00 am that morning. It did indeed arrive in 2 days giving us time to hook this up. We were thrilled as we wanted to put this trailer to work off the grid. Great service. Thank you so much.

by:

I finally received my Go Power IC3000 after a nearly three-week delay. Unfortunately, I missed my window of opportunity to get it installed this year, so I am not able to complete a review of the product at this time. I can say, installation is going to be quite a challenge. The item is large and heavy. Finding a suitable location that meets all the requirements is going to be difficult. The batteries are located at the front of the trailer, while the AC lines are on the other side of the basement. Since the inverter cannot be located in the same area as the batteries, I'm not sure I am going to be able to reach everything and maintain the 10' maximum length requirement of the 0000 DC cable. We will see what happens next spring. I will post a follow-up review post-installation if possible.

by:

The inverter works very well. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the front of the unit is made with cheap plastic. The screws that hold the electric outlet in the front of the unit is embedded into the plastic. The plastic broke the first time I plugged into the outlet. I was leaving in two days to go on a trip to Utah so did not send it back. I voided the warranty by opening the unit, reinforced the outlet by sandwiching the plastic front in between two pieces of aluminum and used screws to hold the outlet in place. Since doing this, everything has worked flawlessly.

I would not buy this item again due to the plastic front.

by:

Everything went well. I’m very pleased with the service & Inverter.

by:

Ordered Monday night at 6:30 pm and it showed up Thursday at noon with the free shipping option. Can’t beat that! Now I get to install over the weekend instead of waiting until the original arrival date of Monday. Will give 4 stars for now until it’s installed and working. Hefty unit at 50 lbs. install in my 2015 Amped 28FS looks like it will be very straight forward. Thanks etrailer for the quick shipping. Now I can’t wait to do some serious boondocking especially when my solar is installed and I can minimize the generator running!

by:

After 4 days of use this inverter easily does anything I need it to do, which is largely charging batteries when taking road trips. It handled my Dremel and 3/8 drill, as well. Didn’t try the grinder ?.

It’s well made with an all metal chassis, including front and rear faces – the only plastic is the black cover. It is substantial and heavy enough that it doesn’t look and feel cheap or breakable.

Overall, I like the unit and would recommend it.

My only strike against it is, IMO, a design flaw at Go Power. It is nuts to have the power connections on the back so close together. One of them should be located where the ground connector is. If one uses something more substantial than the #6 wire Go Power recommends and one should if the inverter is more than about 3 or 4ft from the battery. I am using #6 CABLE for a 9ft run. The plastic caps make it difficult to impossible to use lugs made for more substantial cable, but the proximity of one to the other makes it a safety concern to remove the caps. I had to file one lug more narrow to make it fit inside the plastic and left the other uncovered.

by:

Works as advertised. High quality unit. The fan as a little louder than I'd like, but not an issue. In fact it's very smooth running. I'm using it to power my TV and Blu-ray player in my camper when boon docking.

by:

Installed easily under a dinette seat for air circulation. Most important is the addition of a large 200 amp power switch/circuit breaker. Also installed remote panel for easy monitoring. This is a nice size for moderate usage of electronic equipment while on the road. Would recommend for its quality and very good instructions.

by:

This unit is well built and ready for 50 amp pass thru. Comes with built in 50amp circuit breakers and Romex clamps. Installed on our 2019 Grand Design Momentum and so far works great. Recommend the remote panel. Bob at GoPower was awesome with customer service and helped me set all parameters for lithium batteries. Sarah at etrailer was great and had shipped out an hour after I ordered to make my need date. I highly recommend GoPower and etrailer.

by:

I installed the GoPower 3000w inverter/charger in my fifth wheel trailer. I connected it with three 12v deep cycle flooded cell batteries and a sub panel to send 120v power to all outlets in the trailer. The automatic switch in the inverter has worked flawlessly. Perhaps the best part is the E-Trailer customer support. They answered my calls, actually speak English, and stayed with me until my questions were answered

by:

Great product I thought I was receiving the fuse kit that came with it and I need it I would like to have one

by:

This was a great DIY project. I will be able to boondock and have all the essentials. The inverter/charger was the best addition to my package. I can use a smaller generator because the inverter/charger has power sharing. This is a great feature.
