Today we're taking a look at the replacement trunnion spring bars. These replacement trunnion spring bars work with E2 weight distribution systems. It includes two spring bars with trunnions, bolts, lock washers, and Nylock nuts already installed, so it's ready to go. This portion here is the end that fits into the weight distribution head assembly, and then this end of the bar would be suspended by the frame brackets attached to your trailer.They're made from a durable steel construction. We have the raw steel friction pad here on the bottom for that friction built-in sway control. And they have a nice black powder-coated finish to keep them protected from rust and corrosion.
Now engraved right here on the end, we have 600 pounds, and then E2, so that let's us know that this is designed for the E2 weight distribution systems and that the maximum tongue-weight capacity for this two-bar set up is 600 pounds. Just the bars I needed worked perfectly. I originally order the kit with heavy rated bars but was to bouncy and these are interchangeable and worked great
The Fastway E2 equalizer hitch is easier to use than most as it incorporates anti sway using the equalizer Trunnion spring bars. No chains. However, the trunions must have sufficient leverage to have good friction on the brackets. That was my problem. On the advice of a Fastway rep (not an Etrailer rep) I originally went with 800 lb. Trunnion Bars as the tongue wait of my trailer is just over 600 lbs. Big mistake. Insufficient friction meant minimal or less sway control and increased porpoising.
Getting 600 lb ones from Fastway means getting the trunnions and the hinges and assembling them. Getting them from Etrailer means no assembly and lower cost.
The reason for 4 stars is they were not in stock and took quite a while to obtain. George at Etrailer offered to send 1,000 lb trunnions but that would have made the problem worse. Waiting was the only option. In these days of Covid that wasn't horrible it just wasn't great.
These will fix the problem I'm sure and the time was used doing other things so no super loss. Just not my usual Etrailer experience.
Ordered a set of 600 pound trunnion bars for lighter loads. They were pretty beat up out of the box or I would give 5 stars. My two year old 1000 pound bars look newer.
Was what I expected, arrived in only two days, and in excellent condition. Was scheduled to arrive on Monday the 27th came on Thursday the 23rd very happy.
Have to pick up new camper Wednesday the 29th, and needed the new bars to bring the camper home.
