Today we're going to be taking a look at part number DL24044. This is the Dutton-Lainson hand winch cable. It's got the safety hook on this side. It's a flexible 7 by 9 galvanized air craft cable. The cable itself is going to measure 3/16th of an inch in diameter. You're going to have a total length of 15 feet.
Here on this end you can see we have the exposed cable, this is going to be the end that attaches to our winch. On this end we have a really nice forged steel hook. It's going to have a spring loaded safety latch so it's always going to stay closed unless you have something connected in there. It's going to prevent accidental unhooking or disconnecting. Here on this end of the cable it's also got a nice steel plate that goes around the loop.
That's just to protect the cable as the hook swivel's around it. This is suitable for use on Dutton-Lainson hand winches with up to 1800 pound capacity. It's suitable for strong arm electric winches up to 1500 pounds and it's going to have a safe working load limit for other applications of 840 pounds. It's a nice consistent construction, very strong and very durable and again the cable itself 3/16ths in diameter, 50 feet long. That's going to do it for our review of part number DL24044. This is the Dutton-Lainson hand winch cable with the safety hook. .

I mounted the winch on a removable swivel pedestal on the front of my trailer. I used it to load and unload heavy metal working/welding equipment that I had mounted on rolling stands. Worked great! The brake on the winch worked awesome! Very happy with my purchase and etrailer.
