Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Replacement Rail Pins and Clips for your Curt Fifth Wheel trailer hitches and gooseneck adapters. Basically, these are going to replace the pin and clips that secure your Curt fifth wheel trailer hitch or your Curt gooseneck adapter plate to the rails mounted inside your pickup truck to make sure that your fifth wheel or gooseneck is going to remain in place, and you're not going to have to worry about losing your trailer as you're going down the road.So, these are very important to your setup. These are going to work with your general Curt six wheeled trailer hitch and gooseneck adapters, but they're also going to work with your more specialty items like your X five gooseneck, the fifth wheel rail adapter plate, as well as your spider fifth wheel rail to gooseneck hitch adapter. They are made of a very sturdy steel, and they've got a zinc finish that helps resist any corrosion.
You are going to get four of the pins and four of the clips. The clips, as you already know, just go on to the pins, like that, to make sure that they don't wiggle out and become loose.As far as our dimensions, they are a half inch in diameter. And our usable space from the portion where our clip goes out to where this bends is right about three and a half inches, about 3.56. So, keep that in mind; you'll have about three and a half inches of use there. It should be pretty standard for most of your fifth wheels and gooseneck adapters, especially with the Curt brand.

The Replacement Rail Pins and Clips for the Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch I was not pleased with. The Pins and Clips were shown with "GoldColored Zinc Coated Finish for better protection against rust and corrosion and should last for a long time" they just look like a standard silver colored steel pin and clip. I am hoping they are the same quality I was hoping for.

According to my Curt representative, the pins are using a different protective zinc coating, other than the yellow zinc chromate finish.

The pins and clips I received were curt generic silver pins and clips and were not yellow zinc coating as described in the description and video of the product. So disappointed in that.

I reached out to Curt for clarification on this issue. Curt confirmed that they changed the design of the pins from the yellow zinc coating to a clear zinc with a sealer coat in order to increase corrosion resistance. Our product page is in the process of being updated.

I received the brackets today and installed them today as well. I hooked up the trailer and they preformed as they should. I had a real concern on the amount of time it took to get here. It took 7 days to reach the city in washington that I

Had to order these since they were longer than what came with the patriot Hitch. I had a Reese in the bed Puck rail for Ram 3500. The standard ones are too short to work.

Great product. Installation time is misleading on the paper but would recommend if you have the proper tools and time. Had to remove gas tank which was the hardest part of the installation. The quality of the product is great and will buy again when needed in the future
