Trailer Hitch Options For a 2015 BMW 328i

Hello, Etrailer I am Jose from Puerto Rico. I am in need of a light duty trailer hitch for my 2015 BMW 328i sedan and also the wiring for the brake lights. I’d appreciate it if you guided me to the right products for my car. Thanks.

For your 2015 BMW 328i there a couple options to choose from. The correct option is going to depend on what you are needing to accomplish.

For a trailer hitch that has the most towing capacity and tongue weight, you can use the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH33VR. This kit is going to have everything you need to tow or use a hitch mounted accessory, including the wiring for the tail lights. It has a max towing weight of 3,500 lbs. and tongue weight of 350 lbs. The other nice feature of this option is that it has a 2" receiver, which is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories.

A more economical option is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11367. This hitch has a max towing weight of 2,000 lbs. and tongue weight of 200 lbs. You would then also use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT for the tail light wiring. This hitch also only has a 1-1/4" hitch receiver. If you needed to do some towing, you would need to use a ball mount like the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 1-1/4" Hitches # C45147.
