Solution For A 2021 Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S That Scrapes When Going Up Driveway

Question:

We have just traded in our 2013 Roo 21ss for a 2021 Minilite 2506s. We decided to “downsize” to a larger trailer as kids are getting older and my wife and I are camping alone more often than not. Minilite is 26’, Roo was 22’. Picked up the 2506s on Friday and we love it. The problem is our driveway - it has a 40’ long slope with roughly 10 grade up to the flat parking area. The back of the new trailer scraped the road as we went up the slope with the hitch receiver and jacks dragging. Luckily no serious damage but we want to avoid this obviously. Tow vehicle is 2018 Tahoe. I’m sure this has been discussed in the past and will search forum but thoughts from all really appreciated - I am thinking about caster wheels on the hitch where it’s welded to the frame.. thanks in advance for advice!

Congratulations on your new trailer!

We have a simple and fast solution that is just what you need to prevent your trailer from scraping while going up your driveway!

Take a look at the Ultra-Fab Rotating, Hitch Mounted Skid Wheels for RVs up to 30' Long # UF48-979014.

These caster wheels will get attached to your trailer's hitch and will effectively provide an anti-skid barrier that will prevent your trailer from scraping.
