Hello everybody, this is Jeff AT etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Curt SecureLatch Adjustable Pintle Mounting Plate for 2-1/2" hitches. Has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this pintle mount with the slotted bolt plate will provide maximum adjustability for your Curt SecureLatch Pintle Hook so that you can match your trailer height. Now that SecureLatch Pintle Hook is sold separately on our website, it's usually listed on this product page as a related product, and I wanted to pop up a insert just to show you that's what that pintle hook looks like. And basically you can get that in either a 2" diameter ball or a 2-5/16" diameter ball that, basically, that pintle hook would bolt to this plate using the included hardware right here.
All right, here, this shank portion is what'll slide into your 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" hitch receiver. And that slotted bolt plate will let you easily customize the height to your connection point. So once you bolt your pintle hook to this, you can see, that you can just slide it up or down to get the correct height you need, and then tighten it in the perfect position. Now, this can only be used in the drop position, like it's showing here. You don't wanna flip it over into the rise, It's only designed to be used in the drop position.
It is a sturdy steel construction. You can see it has a nice durable teridium gray powder coat finish to it. Now, when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pinning clip or a hitch lock to secure it to the hitch receiver. That is not included, you would have to supply that, or we do sell those separately on our website, and this hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8". Application again, fits 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" trailer hitch receivers.
Weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. Just wanna give you a few dimensions on the mounting plate itself. The overall height of it, bottom to the very top is 10-5/8". The width of it is right at 5" wide. And as we mention, it does include the mounting hardware.

Use this with a curt 16k combination ball/pintle hitch and am very satisfied so far. No drama purchase via Etrailer, and when the torque spec for the hitch — inexplicably — wasn’t included in the literature a call to their friendly team fixed this issue.
Solid and heavy built product. Lined up perfectly with the 3” down to 2.5” sleeve I previously ordered for my F250 3” receiver. Awaiting the pintle ball combo I ordered to bolt up to this plate. Thanks for the speedy service.

Robust! This pintle mount plate is a monster! Fitment to my 2013 Toyota 4Runner 2” hitch is great, and precisely the size I was looking for, given rear hatch access,(The rear hatch swings free and clear) and pintle hook rise requirements. I easily went from 17” to 26” off the pavement! Photos will show the additional reflective tape I applied to necessitate a safe night’s drive. Photos show the really nice locking pin that secures the mount plate. Special kudos to Jessie at etrailer customer service to expertly assist me in the selection discussion- what a joy! Delivery was ahead of schedule and the product met my specifications! Now let’s get on the road and see how she runs!

mounting plante has worked perfectly. it is the only one that i could find that was rated for the weight when mounted upright or down when using a 2" reciever. shows no signs of fatigue after a year of towing a 3500lb trailer with a 13,000lb escavator several times a week. very satisfied with purchase

mounting plate arrived in a few days. well built and very satisfied with the quality. i purchased 2 sets for both of my trucks. has a good coat of corrosion resistance, that means a lot, you don't want your hitch rusting. i live in a salt enviroment and this will hold up. the fit and finish is top notch.
Exactly what I needed to level pulling my military trailer. The pintle hitch bolted to the mounting plate within a few minutes. Now I can get into the back country with my FJ pulling a trailer made possible by the your pintle hitch/mounting plate Combination.

I recently purchased the Curt 3-position Pintle Mount 48343 and the Demco 6-Hole Adjustable Channel Bracket - Weld On - 12" Tall - 21,000 lbs - DM66134 and found both items to be of exceptional quality. Bought this piece to manufacture a hitch extension. Had to cut the pintle attachment off and use the shaft in this project. I wanted/needed a solid 2 1/2” shaft because of the decrease in tongue and GVW capacities over direct coupling to the factory hitch. I am running an F250 with the tailgate down and a Razor in the bed in addition to pulling a 24’ camper. No worries ??.
