Does Install of etrailer Hitch for 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Require Removal of Rear Bumper

Hi, I’m looking into the retailer class III hitch for my 2022 Subaru Crosstrek and just wanted to confirm that the rear bumper beam doesn’t need to be removed from the car prior to installation correct? Thanks so much!

The etrailer hitch # e98912 that you referenced does not require removal of the rear bumper to install on your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. For more info on how it installs check out the install video and instructions link I attached to this page as well.

The spacers that come with the etrailer hitch that fits your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek are designed to be used as a way to level the hitch as needed. So if using them causes your hitch to not sit level I would recommend removing them.

In most cases Loctite is not required when installing a trailer hitch, but it would not be a bad idea. I suggest using the Loctite Blue Stick Threadlocker, #LT37643, which will provide a secure grip and protect against water and grime.
