How To Add a 7-Way Trailer Connector To a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
hello. I am having wiring installed on my 2016 Caravan RT but running into hiccups. I need to have a 7way with charge line run bc my trailer requires this to power its exhaust fan..the trailer does not have brakes. My install guy is having an issue figuring out how to make the brake lights and turn signals work. The lights ilumite but not change for brake or turns. He installed a brake box hoping he could wire through that to get brakes to work. No go. Any suggestions, diagram references or suggestions of proper harness we could order. Thanks

In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan you'll simply need to use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter part # 22121 which is a completely plug and play kit that will provide you with running lights, stop/turn signals, a battery charge line, and brake output circuit if you would ever need one down the road. I highly recommend this option due to the lack of splicing required for installation. It's really a no-brainer for this vehicle. You'll only need to add the Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware part # PK12711U.
