Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller on 2012 Chrysler Town and Country

Question:

Im looking to add trailer wiring to my 2012 Chrysler Town and Country. I will need electric braking capabilities, so have decided to use part #22121. Will the Draw-Tite I-Command Trailer Brake Controller part #5535 work with this wiring harness? Is there anything else Id need to buy to get the wiring/lighting/braking working?

The Tekonsha OEM Vehicle Wiring Harness # 22121 that you referenced includes all the wiring and parts necessary to install a fully functional 7-Way connector and trailer brake controller.

The included brake controller harness is compatible with and will plug into the Brake EVN # TK63VR that you also mentioned. The other end of the brake controller harness will need to be hardwired to your Town and Country. I have attached the complete installation instructions on this kit that you can check out as well.

You should not need any other wiring components to power both the lights and electric brakes on your trailer.

I have a 2012 Town and Country, I already have a tow bar and will be ordering a ball hitch from etrailers. I really appreciate the tutorials and access to expert advice! I have no wiring for towing or brake controller installed. If I buy this 7 pin kit, do I have to have a 4 pin wiring already, or install one and then convert? Is there just a kit that I can install to pull my pop up camper without installing a 4 pin first?

The Tekonsha Trailer Harness # 22121 is actually an all-in-one kit that includes everything necessary to install a fully functional 7-Way connector on your Town and Country. You don't need to have a 4-Way connector in place to install this harness.
