Parts Needed To Tow a Trailer with Electric Brakes Using a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country
Question:
Hello. I have a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country that I need to wire for pulling a pop up camper with electric brake. It currently has no trailer wiring. I understand that Ill need a 7 pin setup, but am unclear exactly which sort of kit I need to purchase. Would you be able to recommend your best selling option as well as the most economical choice? Thanks so much!

In order to tow a trailer with electric brakes using a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country you'll first need to start with a trailer hitch and for this I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13364. Then you can add trailer wiring, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56331 which has a 4-way but can be upgraded to a 7-way using the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7.
You can then add any trailer brake controller of your choice, the Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN Trailer Brake Controller part # TK63VR is what I recommend. It's one of the most cost effective options with proportional design. This is a great setup for this vehicle that will allow for towing trailer's with electric brakes.
