Four bike Rack With An EcoHitch 306-X7286 For 2012 Honda Fit

Question:

Hello! Looking to see if a EcoHitch 306-X7286 on a 2012 Honda Fit could support having a 4 bike platform rack. For example the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack. Thanks. Also, one other question, the page for the #306-X7286 list tongue weight as 300 and 200. Torklift states that its 300. Whats up with that? Also what classinch is the hitch rated at?

I will start with the question about the maximum tongue weight. Per Torklift, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2", part # 306-X7286, has a maximum tongue weight of 300lbs.

Now whether your 2012 Honda Fit can handle a 4 bike platform rack depends on the weight of the rack, the weight of the bikes your are transporting, and if their total weight is less than the maximum tongue weight of your hitch receiver. My recommendation will give you the most flexibility with regards to transporting bikes.

I recommend using the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Metallic Black, part # NV22B, and the 2-Bike Add-On for Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Matte Black, part # BA02B. I like this setup because you can turn this into a four bike hitch rack but you always have the option of using it as a two bike hitch rack. This rack has an anti-rattle hitch bolt that eliminates movement between the hitch receiver and the the rack. This will also lock the rack to the vehicle. It has a tilt-down mast, that work whether the rack has bikes on it or is empty, so you can access the rear of your vehicle. The rack is secured by the wheels, so the rack never touches the frames of your bikes.

I have included product description links and a video review link below.
