How Close To a 3" Rise Ball Mount For 2" Receiver Do I Need?
Question:
I need a ball mount for a class III hitch with 2inch receiver. Based on my measurements I need a 3inch rise. It seems like the closest I can find in terms of rise is a 2 3/4inch like this one. How much difference would the 1/4inch difference make? Could I safely use this, or do I need to search harder for an exact 3inch rise?

The Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 2753 will work just fine for your situation. I wouldn't be to overly concerned over a 1/4" difference in the height measurement. I usually suggest to be plus or minus 1" for the height. This ball mount is rated for 7,500lbs towing and 750lbs tongue weight. You will need a 2" Hitch Ball # 63845 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40007 with a 1" shank.
If you are concerned we do have the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 4281 that is a 3" rise. This ball mount is rated for 12,000lbs towing and 1,200lbs of tongue weight. It will require a 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C49FR with a 1-1/4" shank.
