Determining Which Brakes Fit 10" x 2-1/2" Drums On Boat Trailer

Question:

so measuring the inside of my brake drum im getting 10x 2.5, i would have to guess 2.25 would be what its being called, or do i have an odd size? in assuming i would need a 2.25 i cannot figure out what the difference is between these 2 parts could you explain the differences to me? T4423500-400 T4071600-500 also it looks liked i have dexter drums, i doubt it matters on the brand, however i figured id ask someone more knowledgeable then myself, or should i be looking for dexter parts? what i know of this trailer, is that its tabbed to be a 4500 gvw and theres a big boat on top of it. its 5 lug and i cant find any axle tags to speak of. any info would be great, thank you

Based on the information you provided either the Titan Hydraulic Brake Kit - Free Backing - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,750 lbs # T4071600-500 or # T4423500-400 will fit your drums.

The only difference between these two brakes is the # T4071600-500 are made of standard metal where the # T4423500-400 have a Galphorite coating giving it superior corrosion resistance.

Since you are putting these brakes on a boat trailer I recommend the # T4423500-400 as they will be less likely to rust.

Neither option includes new mounting hardware, so if you need new bolts to attach the brakes I recommend the # BRKH10A

I included videos of both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
