Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Not Working On A 2014 Ford F-150
Question:
2014 F150 did not have trailer brake wiring, only 4 wire. I Installed your ETBC7 in late 2018 to work with Prodigy 90185 and all was well until recently. Only had to install 40A fuse for trailer power, did not install 20A fuse because I already had power at the brake controller plug. Prodigy worked great. Towed a Uhaul trailer in Sept, 2020, with 7 way to 4 way adapter and now i have no power to the Prodigy. 40A fuse is good and I have 12V at the 7 way. Checked brake controller fuse 37 at passenger side and its good. No power on black wire of brake controller plug in the dashboard. I swapped controllers with a friend and mine worked in his truck, but his didnt work in my truck. So, i know its a problem with the truck. Any suggestions? strange observation... Fuse 17 under the hood is missing. I didnt remove that and havent had any service on the truck that would have required them to look at the fuses since the last time I towed and the brake controller worked. I think the 40A fuse I installed is in place of fuse 17, but let me know what you think please Ill laugh if Fuse 17 is supposed to be there because I have no idea who or why it was removed. Thank you,

According to the owners manual for a 2014 Ford F-150, Fuse 17 is a 30 amp fuse for the brake controller. If there is no fuse in that location then the brake controller isn't going to work. I recommend adding a 30 am fuse and testing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional Item # 90195 controller again.
