Install your electric brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in harness beneath your 's dash.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the 4-pin connector in your vehicle's junction box. The box is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, just above the carpeting.
To install your electric brake controller you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If, however, you have a brake controller with a plug in place of the four loose wires, you can use the Tekonsha adapter.
This adapter requires no hardwiring. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

When I got a new-to-me 2104 Silverado, I thought I could just buy a new cable and I was correct. It was delivered quickly and plugged in with no issues. The new truck's lower dash panel is more vertical than the older truck and I didn't want to drill holes in it for the mount, so I purchased heavy duty Velcro tape and cut it to fit. It has worked without issues.

I highly recommend purchasing from etrailer!! Easy to put together and install only takes minutes!! I'm using these products to pull a 30ft travel trailer and it does a GREAT job! Hooking up the distribution bars is so fast and easy they just slide in and your done, and the brake controller automatically sees your trailer and saves your settings, so you don't have anything else to do!!

Perfect fit. Allowed me to transfer my break controles from my Pathfinder to my GMC.
I do wish it was a few inches longer, I could had ran the wires a bit cleaner up under the dash.

Still works… no issues
Smooth control. Brake action is easily adjustable while on the road. Display is clear and easily read. Very happy with this controller.
Simple plug and play for 2019 Tahoe. Instructions were adequate and took 5 mins to install. Works great so far with the prodigy brake controller.
Received the wiring harness and bracket for the brake controller quicker than thought. Though there was a lack of instructions enclosed I found explanations on line on Etrailer site that detailed installation. The only thing missing was though the wiring harness fit, it did not snap into place. Not sure if that is correct or not. Products performed without any complications though. I would recommend these pieces to others.
The wiring adapter I ordered was easy to install by following the included instructions! It is vehicle specific ,so I ordered one that fits my 2019 silverado 1500.It plugged into the 4 prong receptacle inside the block box under the dash to the left of the brake pedal against the fire wall.The other end plugged into the brake controller that I ordered(the wire adapter fits several different brands) I installed the Kenosha Primus IQ. Both items had concise, clear instructions with them.After finishing the install I plugged in the travel trailer and set the the brake controller by the instructions and it is working great!The install took me about 20 minutes.

The Tekonsha P3 is an outstanding controller. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a good for a user friendly controller with nice options. It looks great in my 2014 Silverado. I was in a bit of a spot and needed a trailer braking system in a hurry for my 2018 GMC Sierra pickup. After looking around at all the local automotive shops and part stores in the area... I was at my wit's end as no one that I spoke with had any information as to whether or not the unit they had would work for my truck. So I jumped online as it was getting down to crunch time and I needed the unit as I was to pick up the travel trailer and a couple of days. I went online and found etrailer.com
After very little research and a quick phone call to tech support... they knew exactly what I needed along with the adapter cord that plugs right into the fuse panel. It took me all of 10 minutes to install the unit and it works phenomenal. Also due to the amount of time I had to get the unit and get it installed they expedited the shipping and I had it the next day. These folks know exactly what they're doing and what you need and will not disappoint. I have never had an easier and more pleasurable installation of an aftermarket product. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you very much again a very satisfied customer. I purchased the Primus IQ which is a proportional braking system and again it came with a harness that went right into the fuse panel in my truck. The instructions were easy to follow and a unit works very very well. As I said 10 minutes to put it in at the most. Great job guys thanks again.

After visiting with the sales professional at etrailer.com they were able to get me exactly the harness I needed that fit my brand new GMC 2021 pickup that made it up to the V brake controller they know what theyre doing this gentleman that I talked with did a phenomenal job of pairing up with what I needed and it went in without a hitch
This cable made it very simple to connect to my Tahoe. I appreciate that they knew which cable I needed so I didn't have to wire it in myself. I wish all web sites made it this simple. The instructions with the pictures made it very easy to follow and it worked first time. GREAT JOB!!!
Too short to mount your brake controller where you want it? The parts you needed to make it longer were right in front of you. I bought this adapter harness along with the Prodigy P3, which also came with it's own harness and attached pigtails. Cut off controller connection on the 3016, and wired up the supplied pigtail harness that came in the P3 box. Took 10 minutes and I had myself plenty of extra length. Have not installed it yet but it looks simple enough with the video tutorial that eTrailer has available.
I'm in the process of getting a larger trailer to haul my vintage tractors on and needed a brake controller. After reading the reviews I decided on the P3, can't wait to give it a try. Installation was a breeze, like other reviewers mentioned it took longer to decide where I wanted it than the actual installation.

Looks like this thing was dropped a few times which damaged the paint but I guess oh well when you're short on time you just have to deal with it.

This wiring adapter made the installation one of the easiest I've ever done. Literally took me less than 5 minutes to install the new trailer break controller.
Easy to install. Only left is to hook up the trailer. 15 minute install. Very easy with the wiring harness.

Recently bought a Tahoe to tow my small camper. It had a tow package but no integrated electric brake controller. I experienced a bit of frustration finding the location of the four-pin plug-in on the vehicle (in the past when I have attempted this project it was always under the dash to the far left). Kaylyn R. was prompt to respond to my message requesting assistance in find the location for the plug and identified the location as in the junction box behind the emergency brake, above the carpet. Still took some head scratching to locate the exact location, but when I did the installation was flawless from there. I now have trailer brakes.
