A weight distribution system is not required to tow with your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, though a system is recommended if your trailer weight is more than 50 percent of your vehicle's GVWR. Even a small pop-up is going to surpass the 50 percent mark of your Grand Caravan so I highly recommend a weight distribution system with sway control. This will not only keep you level but also greatly help you control your vehicle when towing.

For a system with up to a 350 lb tongue weight, the best option in terms of quality and value is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0450.

This gives you two points of friction sway control for optimal handling, uses clamp-on brackets for an easier installation than systems that use chains, and allows you to back up with the system on, something that not all allow you to do. The Fastway is compatible with surge or electric brakes, and comes with everything you need to install, with the exception of the hitch ball. That will depend on the size of your trailer's coupler, though with a pop-up camper you will likely just need 2" Hitch Ball # 40038.

Your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan will also need a trailer hitch receiver compatible with weight distribution and for that I recommend the hitch with the best bumper clearance, which is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98854.

To add a 4-way wiring harness to your '17 Grand Caravan the correct part is the Wiring Harness # C56331.

I have added links to video reviews and installs for you to check out as well.
