Need extra light over your RV kitchen sink for when you do the dishes? Or perhaps you need to upgrade the dim, old lights in your travel trailer? This dome light has cool white LEDs that give you brighter light underneath a kitchen cabinet, in a walkway, in a closet, or inside your enclosed trailer.
LEDs are more energy efficient, last longer, and burn brighter than lights with incandescent bulbs. You won't have to worry about replacing bulbs that have brittle filaments. And because LEDs draw minimal power, the light won't drain your battery, overload your circuits, or produce too much heat.
LED Circuit Board Has Surface-Mount Technology
Unlike other LED lights, this dome light has an LED circuit board with durable, surface-mount technology. This technology will better resist the shock and vibration that happens when you drive over rough roads. And it improves heat distribution, which means that you won't burn your fingers when you need to do maintenance.
Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens
Lumens are utilized to measure the actual amount of light that you can see and use from a light source. If you need a super bright light for a workspace, you will want to go with a light that has a higher lumen count. If you want a softer glow in an RV living space, you should go with a light that has a lower lumen count.
Light sources typically have 2 different kinds of lumens: raw and effective. Raw lumens represent the natural amount of light that a manufacturer says their light fixtures can produce. Effective lumens, on the other hand, represent the usable brightness of the entire light assembly, including the drive method or any lenses or reflectors.
Surface-Mount, Bolt-On Installation is Easy
This surface-mount dome light is incredibly easy to install as an upgrade or direct replacement of your existing light. Using hardware (not included), bolt the housing onto the ceiling, wall, or cabinet. The included trim flange covers the bolt holes to provide a clean, finished look. The light wires to a switch inside your RV and hooks up to ground (white wire) and power (black wire).

Hey guys, Kevin here at etrailer, and today we'll be showing you how to install the Optronics Opti-Brite LED Dome Light. So our neighbor has to pull his race car in to his trailer every now and then. Depending on the race track that he's on because he doesn't always had the space. Pulling into this trailer before we put our lights in, it was very dim, he couldn't really see anything. So working on his car was gonna be really hard to do. So, instead we installed these LED dome lights that are gonna give him a much brighter visibility than any incandescent bulb and it's gonna last a whole lot longer.
They're very low profile dome lights. So these really only losing about 1/4-inch of space from the ceiling. So he doesn't have to worry about knocking into it. It's not like those bigger bulky ones that you'd see inside of a camper. These LED dome lights are actually compatible with both 12V and 24V systems as well.
So this installation is fairly simple. Your LED dome light is only gonna have two wires, your positive and your neutral. So, hooking that up to your wires is gonna be super simple. If you're just replacing in an existing light, it's gonna be straightforward. All you're gonna do is just remove your old light, hook this up to the wires that you already had ran.
If it's like our case, where I had to run separate lights all the, or wiring all the way through our trailer up to get to our switch, it's gonna take a little bit more time and be a little bit more invasive. But all in all, still a fairly simple installation. So what we're gonna do is we're going to mount our light up in the ceiling, closer to the edge. So I already got directions that he wanted it to be 6 inches from the wall cause' we actually have a little metal panel that sits right here. And then also, I kind of wanted to center it because we're gonna be running eight lights throughout our trailer here.
So I got this in the center of this patch because it's gonna be more appealing to the eye, and then 6 inches out. What I did so that I wouldn't mark up our ceiling here was just use some tape. Made my measurements exactly where I wanted it and drew the lines. So now we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna drill this out. You gotta be very careful, especially on these enclosed trailers because the ceiling here is really only an inch or two from this ceiling to the actual metal roof. So I'm using a hole saw with the center bit that's barely past that. And we're just gonna kind of rock it back and forth, that way I can cut through this ceiling without actually puncturing up into our metal roof. Now with that lose, we can just break that off and we have our hole. From there, I'm gonna be running my wiring down to a different light, so that every light's gonna work of with the same switch. So I'm gonna drill another hole back here, that's gonna be hidden behind our metal flashing that we have, that way I can wire this up to each of the other lights. So with my light, I'm gonna strip back my casing. Do it a little bit further than normal. Just because I'm gonna fold this, wire gauge is so small, I'm gonna fold the end over just a bit and then twist it up, just so, I can stick in it up a bit before sticking it in the butt connector. Go ahead and do the same thing to our other wire. And we can put two butt connectors on and crimp 'em down. And then we can run some wiring from our hole that's gonna be running to our light over to that hidden hole. That way I can wire this into all the other lights. While we're down here, I'm gonna go ahead and crimp on our wiring that we're gonna run over to our power and use red for my positive and yellow for my neutral. And now we can go ahead and stick this up in our ceiling. So I'm gonna stick my two wires through and I'm gonna try and get 'em over to that other hole. With it being so close, I'm not gonna bother taping these up and trying to use a fishing rod or anything to pull it through. All right, now we got that we can pull our light up into our spot. Get it how we want it and then screw it in place. Once they have it evenly placed, I'm gonna put one screw in to start and then I'm gonna get down and just double check that I got both sides straight. I don't want it looking crooked later on. All right. And now we can snap on our cover and then we can run our power wire over into our next light. All right. So now that we have our other side done and all of our wiring tucked up I'm gonna put our cover back in place and then we can make our connections to our power wire. So because I'm only putting a lot of wires together, I'm gonna split up what's gonna be going in one end of the butt connector. I got one side of our lights that I'm gonna hook up with our power and our neutral wire and before you go ahead and do any of this make sure that you have your power off. I'm already gone ahead and tested with our multimeter making sure we're good to go but I'm gonna twist up my power, on my butt connector, crimp that on and now, for our other side of our lights, I'm gonna hook this into the light where there originally was mounted to our ceiling here and we're gonna hook that into our other side here. To do that, I can strip back my casing on my wire now. All right. So same thing, we're gonna hook up our powers and our neutral wires and then we're gonna run those into our butt connectors. We'll crimp 'em down and we can go ahead and shove all of our wiring back up in the ceiling. And as we're going, I'm gonna start screwing in my light panel here. So now we have all of our wiring in place. I closed the toy hauler door back up so we can get a good little view here of how the lights are now. As you can see, way brighter. And now our neighbor's gonna have way better visibility when he's trying to work on his race car in between laps. Light works great for low light and seeing around in the trailer when not using AC power. The AC lights are used when more light is needed. As always, etrailer

No issues at all. Was a good up grade to my car hauler.
Dimmable option is a great plus, have had no problems, will probably replace more fixtures in my trailer with these lights.
Exactly what I was looking for and needed.Replaced a dim incandescent light with an LED.
These lights have really improved the lighting in our trailer. The light shines on my counters and the lights are not the yellow kind, but more blue. These lights do not have on and off buttons so we have them where they are on with the wall switch. I will be ordering a couple more. Thank you
I installed 4 of these lights low on the wall to assist in lighting the tie down anchors and straps in my car hauler trailer. They are very bright and easy to mount with 4 screws. These 4 lights and the 3 ceiling lights that I purchased from etrailer.com work great in making an enclosed trailer very bright inside. The surface mount makes these lights AAA+.
Perfect light for our service truck. low profile, very bright, shipped quickly and received in a timely manner. Highly recommend.
I will be using these to replace 4' fluorescent in a 28' enclosed trailer. I have not yet installed them, however I connected them to 12-volt power and they are very bright. The flush mount design will make it very easy to install without any retrofitting or needing to do cut outs.
I used it in my 24 volt excavator as a replacement dome light.

Have not yet installed lights into a unit yet,but from everything we can see the lights are exactly the same as one's purchased elsewhere but at a greatly reduced price.
I never received this item and never received the invoice even though my C.C. was billed for its days ago. Not too happy with the service this time.
Added 4 of these during a rustic hunting cabin lighting project. These are for the shed and provide awesome lighting. I didn't realize the back side of the shed door was cream colored because we never closed the door before due to needing all the light we could get. Because it is a shed and we run these off of batteries I used a standard bathroom fan timer switch to make sure the lights don't get left on forever.
Works much better than the incandescent ones I replaced.
These are fantastic. Replaced two main lights, both controlled by a wall mounted switch, in our 21' travel trailer. The additional light from these is amazing. We can now see inside the cupboards and closets without needing a flashlight. Installation was easy and straightforward, just remember that LEDs are polarity specific. Also keep in mind that these do not have a switch in them, which is why I only replaced the two main lights. We like them so well we just ordered another to replace the bathroom light, also controlled by a wall switch. I would replace all the lights with these if they had internal switches.
