Where is Ideal Location to Install Fifth Wheel Hitch in Bed of 2019 Ford F-450
Question:
I have a 2019 F-450. I just ordered a M5 Reese 20k# hitch from you. So, if clearance is not an issue what is the best position to mount the base more forward/rearward?

Expert Reply:
Ideally when you install a fifth wheel hitch you put it right over the rear axle or up to a few inches ahead of the axle centerline. If you install the hitch with the Custom Fifth Wheel Rail Kit from Reese part # RP56017-53 it will place the hitch right over the axle as needed without requiring frame drilling.
