It's going to vary a bit depending on whether or not your rear suspension is worn or not, but in most cases a 2005 Honda Pilot with the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e98851 will sit 16-3/8" from the bottom of the hitch to the ground. Because this hitch has a concealed cross tube design it will provide good ground clearance compared to a cross tube that is visible. This hitch has a durable, matte black powder coating that will stand up to corrosion extremely well and provides you with a 2" receiver that can be used for towing or carrying bike racks on your 2005 Honda Pilot.

If you're going to be towing with this hitch, you will need a wiring harness to power the trailer lights, as well as a ball mount and hitch ball. For wiring, I recommend using the Tekonsha T-One # 118336 because the Tekonsha harnesses generally have a more reliable converter than the other wiring harnesses available. To complete your towing setup I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it comes with 2 ball mounts and 2 hitch balls to allow you to cover a variety of trailer setups.

I've linked installation videos of the wiring harness for your vehicle as well as the installation of a similar hitch on your vehicle that can be used as a reference if you're going to be installing these yourself (the process will be the same for both hitches).
