The one important thing to consider when choosing a weight distribution system is actually the tongue weight of your loaded trailer. Typically, your tongue weight will fall between 10-15% of the total loaded weight of your trailer- a good tool to have to make sure you're not overloading the tongue is a tongue weight scale like the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale # e99044, it really is a great tool to keep around to make sure you're not over/under loading your hitch and trailer.

When it comes to choosing a weight distribution system, you want one that your tongue weight falls somewhere in the middle of the range. With you camper coming in around 4500-lbs, your tongue weight is going to be between 450-675lbs; your best solution to prevent trailer sway is going to be the Strait-Line Weight Distribution system # RP66087. The dual cam shafts do an exceptional job of preventing sway before it starts, and the round spring bars help keep your trailer level for the best and safest towing experience. I prefer this to systems that rely only on the spring bars creating friction to help reduce sway as opposed to the Strait-Line that works to stop your trailer from swaying before it starts.

If you're looking for a more economical solution, you can go with a steel-on-steel friction sway control solution like the one provided on the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution system # FA94-00-0800. The Fastway system uses brackets to keep the bars in line and create friction that will help reduce the sway encountered when dealing with passing semi-trucks and wind. With the Fastway e2 you'll also need a hitch ball with 1-1/4" shank like the Curt # A-90 and I recommend adding the 1-7/8" thin-walled socket # ALL643216 to help make installation of the hitch ball easier.

Both of these systems are rated for tongue weights between 400-800lbs and total trailer weights of 10000-lbs GTW, so they'll be a good fit for your Airstream trailer and both of these systems allow you to backup your trailer without disconnecting the spring bars for ease of use. I've also attached a few short videos that show some of the differences and features of the weight distribution systems that you might find helpful.
