Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

You can not believe how difficult a time I had trying to find these golf cart tires. Everyone said what an odd size they were. Another company, Treadwell, didn't have them but they recommended eTrailer and I'm glad they did. From order to my front door it took less than a week, and at a reasonable price. Of the tires improve my golf game I'll really be excited.

These wheels were the perfect fit for our custom-made 6-wheeled Horse Wagon! We incorporated them into the original design to keep the center of gravity low on our "21st Century" model of the horse-drawn Tour Wagon! The 10" hubs fit the disc brakes of the new design--we love it! Thanks!

by:

Prompt delivery in good packaging. All inflated with proper air pressure ready for immediate installation. White rims look good with or without decorative rim covers (See photos). Since I have not used the cart yet after installation, Product quality cannot be rated. At this point, I am most satisfied.

Bought a pair of these tires awhile ago, the front ones have been on the cart for about 2 months, just put the back ones on today.the order came in about 4 days, great service and a good product, I will buy more of them.had 4 other tires from another company, didn't last 6 months

by:

I love the product and they look great on my cart. I recieved my 4 tires only 3 days after I ordered them and they arrived fully inflated. They were easy to put on my cart. It's amazing how much better my cart rides now. I highly recommend them and the price is great too!

by:

Went looking for new wheels and tires for my golf cart and surprised to find that etrailer showed up on the computer at which point I quit searching. Had a good experience in the past for some trailer wheels so I felt good buying again. Ordered on the internet and had in a few days and put on after receiving and took for a test drive . Cart goes down the road much better and getting a nice smooth ride. Very pleased and appreciate the follow up on the purchase and will use you again when the need happens.

Great value. Excellent product. I replaced my old tires/wheels and the new ones not only look great, the ride is much smoother. I would definitely purchase products again from etrailer.com

by:

I bought these to replace the tires and wheels on a garden cart. I had 21x12x8. I couldn't find those. These were ideal. Ordering was simple, delivery was fast, the tires and wheels came fully aired and went on in a snap. They are better than what I had, ride well, and look good. The price was good also. I am very pleased with the tires, the wheels, and etrailer.com.

by:

Product was delivered on time and was exactly what I expected. I have ordered things from etrailer.com several times and I have always had excellent service. Every time I have ordered something it has been shipped the day of the order and received by me by the estimated delivery date.

  • Can Kenda AM1HP60 225/55B12 Tire Be Used on a Trailer
Although its more commonly used on golf carts, as long as the tire's kept properly inflated to 100psi as listed on the sidewall the Kenda # AM1HP60 225/55B12 tire can be used on a trailer. The tires are rated for a 65 mph top speed. I've included a link to our Trailer Tire/Wheel help articles which contains enough information about trailer wheels and tires to make you the envy of your peer group.

  • Wider Replacement Trailer Tire Options for 4.80x12 Tires
In order to replace the 4.80x12 trailer tires which measure 20.7" diameter x 4.9" wide in light of a wider option, I recommend a 225/55-12 the Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire part # AM1HP60 in particular which measures 21.8" diameter x 8.9" wide. I don't have any wheels with offset for this size so if you don't have the additional clearance you can go with a 5.30x12, the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire part # AM10066 which measures 21.9" diameter x 5.6" wide.

  • Looking for 225/50-10 Load Range E Wheel/Tire Combo
We don't offer a 225/50-10 tire in a load range E, but we can come pretty close as far as the size goes. We offer a 205/65-10 in a load range D which has a 1320 lb capacity per tire. The 205/65-10 is 20.6 inches in diameter and 8.3 inches wide, which is about an inch in a half taller which will raise your ride height by about 3/4 on an inch and a 1/2 inch wider than your existing tires. If this will work for you, we offer them mounted on a white powder coated wheel with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern...

  • Can Size 225/75-15 Load Range D Trailer Tires be Replaced with Load Range E Tires
There's no harm in putting tires with a higher load range on your trailer when replacing them. With that being said there's no gain either. At least not from the load range. The tires technically have a higher capacity but that isn't going to increase the capacity of your trailer because you're still limited by whatever component has the lowest rating. As long as you still keep the trailer within its capabilites the higher rated tires will work just fine for you. I'm guessing your...

  • Replacement for Innova Driver 215/35-12 Trailer Tires
I do have options for you but the Innova Driver 215/35-12 tires you have are a very oddball size. The best size we have to replace these are going to be a 225/55-12 like the Kenda Tire part # AM1HP60 which is 21.8" diameter x 8.9" wide or a 4.80x12 like the Taskmaster Tire part # TT48012C which is 20.6" diameter x 4.8" wide. The Kenda option has a 65 mph speed rating and the Taskmaster option has an 81 mph speed rating. For reference, the 213/35-12 tires you have now are 17.9" diameter...

  • Wheel Compatibility with Golf Cart Tire
For the Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire - Load Range E # AM1HP60 you will need a 12x7 inch rim and a valve stem. We carry the valve stem # AM20906, but that size wheel we unfortunately do not carry. It is more of an ATV or Lawn Tractor tire size, so I recommend checking out places that specialize in those products to assist. Most Golf Carts use a smaller wheel that is 10 inch and I recommend the Kenda 205/50-10 Bias Golf Cart Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 # AM90016 if that is...

  • Boat Trailer Keeps Having Tire Blowouts on One Side of the Trailer
The fact that you are having blowouts on the same side repeatedly could indicate that, for whatever reason, the trailer is heavier on that one side. Or it could mean that there is a problem with the suspension on that side or that something is out of spec in the running gear (hubs or spindle). All of these things would increase the amount of heat generated by the tire. Excessive heat leads to tire failure. If you have ever hit a curb or something else then that could have caused damage...

  • Will the Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire Fit Icon Golf Cart With 23x10.5-12 Tires
The Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire # AM1HP60 will fit your Icon golf cart as long as the current rims are 7" wide. Since you have 23x10.50-12 tires we already know that you have 12" rims so the width will be the determining factor. These tires have an outer diameter of 21.8" and a section width of 8.9" with a maximum load of 2,465 lbs at 100 psi.

  • Replacement Tire And Wheel Options For 5.30-12" Tires On 12" 5 on 4 1/2 Wheels
I do have an option that will give you wider tires than the 5.30-12 tires you currently have on your trailer. I recommend going with the Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire # AM1HP60 which will be 3.3" wider and the same overall height than the 5.30-12 tires but will require a 12x7 wheel which unfortunately we do not carry. You can possibly find a suitable wheel option at a lawn and garden retailer as these wheels are commonly found on golf carts. For a option to directly replace what...

  • Recommended Tires for a Yamaha G16 Golf Cart
The largest tire we have that will fit a 10" diameter wheel is a 205/65-10 like the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire part # AM1HP50 which is 20.5" diameter. The 205/50-10 tire that you have now is 18.1" diameter therefore the new tire size will be 1.2" taller. If you would like something ever taller than that then you would need to switch to a larger wheel with a 225/55-12 tire like the Kenda Bias Golf Cart Tire part # AM1HP60 which will be 1.8" taller.
