What Is the Tongue Weight Capacity of a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I’m thinking about buying a trailer that has a hitch weight of 240lbs, will my 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 be able to tow it

Helpful Expert Reply:
The maximum tongue weight capacity of your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is 600 lbs so the 240 lbs of hitch weight that your trailer has will not be an issue whatsoever. I don't think the gross trailer weight will be a factory either but it will be best to reference page 4-72 of your owner's manual for this. I have attached a few parts below you might need as well to tow a trailer.
Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75521
