Does Backup Sensor of 2014 Audi Q7 Need to Disconnect to Install Draw Tite Hitch
Question:
I was going to have a local UHaul install the hitch for me, but they said they would not do it because they had to disconnect the wires for the backup sensor and that would require the backup sensors to be re-calibrated. At this point Id like to do the install myself, but I am wondering if this is actually an issue?

When installing the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75950 on your 2014 Audi Q7 the backup sensor does get unplugged, but it does not need to be re-calibrated or programmed to work properly. We installed this hitch on a Q7 just like yours and did not have that issue at all. I attached an install video link for this hitch on a 2014 Q7 like yours as well.
To be extra cautious you might disconnect your battery before unplugging the sensor and then plugging the sensor back in before reconnecting the battery. Your vehicle wouldn't know it was ever disconnected at any point.
