Replacing the Stock Hitch On a 2013 Audi Q7 With Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch

Question:

I have a 2013 Audi Q7 TDI with the towing package. The rated capacity for the receiver is 6600 pounds and 660 pounds of hitch weight. This hitch Draw-Tite 75950 advertises a 7500 pound towing capacity with a 750 hitch weight. I never intend to tow over 6000 pounds with my Q7 but I am interested in having a higher hitch weight capacity. Would it be worth switching out the stock hitch for the Draw-Tite to increase the hitch weight capacity? Thank you for your help!

Expert Reply:

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75950 is an excellent option for a 2013 Audi Q7. It is rated higher than the factory hitch at 7,500 gross trailer weight and 750 lbs tongue weight. This does not mean you can tow more as the vehicle is rated lower but it does give more room for error on the hitch side. Therefore, it will be worth the upgrade due to the extra room for error,
