Curt Shock Absorbing Towing Kit w/ Sway Control and Wireless Brake Controller Combo

Question:

I have a 2022 Highland Hybrid. We also have a 2016 Rpod-172 I was told to install electric brakes, bjt the dealership said not possible as they throw check engine light warnings. Will this wireless braking get me around that? Also, something about my bumper makes it not possible to install weight distribution or something. Will this work to stabilize my load and prevent sway?

I would be happy to help you. We hear this complaint quite often about dealerships not wanting to install after market wiring for random reasons because they want you to purchase theirs usually. The Curt Shock Absorbing Towing Kit w/ Sway Control and Wireless Brake Controller - 2" Hitch - 7.5K item # C57DR would be a great set up for controlling your trailer brakes and addressing sway control issues. Many trailer hitches have restrictions on weight distribution systems so yours not being compatible with one makes sense. The Curt Echo wireless brake controller is one of the easiest and most reliable brake controllers on the market. It is controlled through your phone. It will plug directly into your Highlander's 7-way harness and then your trailer's 7-way connector will plug into it. This means no bulky brake controller to bump your knees on.

If your Rpod-172 trailer uses a 2" ball you will also need the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball item # C94CR. The combo kit comes with a 2-5/16". It should say on your trailer what size coupler you have and ball you need.
