Are Additional Safety Chains Needed To Use Curt Hitch Extension C45048?
Question:
How are safety chains supposed to be setup with this? Do you need extended chains that go from the trailer to the truck, or do you chain the trailer to the extension and then chain the extension to the truck?

When using the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long # C45048 you were looking at the safety chains on your trailer will get connected to the front two safety chain loops.
You will need two additional safety chains like # TCTSCG30-730-04x1 with quick links # TCQL531 to go between the rear safety chain loops and the trailer hitch receiver on your truck.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
