Boat Trailer Roller Bunk Replacement Rubber Wheels

Question:

I have a pair of these bunk rollers purchased 1 1/2 years ago. I am far from happy with the rubbers on these channels. I trailer my boat approximately 20 times a year. The rubbers are very soft and are peeling. Ive had to try to repair 4 of these already. These rubber wheels should be much sturdier for my boat , a 16 foot Lowe with a 20 hp Mercury 4 stroke. The weight of my boat and motor shouldnt peel these rollers like they are now. The rollers run perfectly between the keels , but that hasnt stopped the rubbers from failing. I installed the roller systems on my Karavan Galvanized boat trailer after removing the bunks that were on the trailer when I purchased the trailer new. Please tell me that they are changing the wheels to a stronger more durable rubber , something that is made in America , and better quality.

There have not been any updates to the CE Smith Rollers, but you may want to consider the Replacement Roller for Dutton Lainson Roller Bunks # DL203228 which are a little stronger as the roller is made for boats up to 1,000 lbs heavier than the CE Smith rollers. These rollers are 2-1/4 inches diameter and 1-3/8 inches wide with a hole in the middle that is 9/16 of an inch.
