Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation in 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Question:
I bought a 2017 silverado 1500 with the hitch and lights plug but did not get the brake controller, now I find I need one, will you have anything that works with my truck and do I need to run wire to the back for the trailer connection or did Chevy build this in?

We can help you with a trailer brake controller for your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Since your truck has a factory-installed 7-way wiring setup all you will need is the controller itself and the mating wiring adapter that will plug in under your dash. Installation will be a snap. GM already ran the needed wiring.
The one brake controller we tend to recommend over all others is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, part # 90195, which has a proven track record of exceptional reliability and ease of use. Installing the P3 in your truck will require only the wiring adapter # 3016, nothing else. This will plug in between the controller and the port under your dash.
