Dual Receiver Hitch Adapter to Provide More Clearance Between Ball Mount and Accessory
Question:
I have a similar item from a different manufacturer Haul Master but it has the same measurements. The 3 1/4inch rise on the accessory receiver is not high enough. I have a bike rack that comes straight but but it it rubs against the trailer tongue. Do you have a similar item that has a higher clearance between the accessory receiver and the ball?

The MaxxTow Multi-Purpose Ball Mount # MT70066 does have 3-1/4-inches of rise and the similar Curt part # D210 offers only a little bit more clearance, 3-9/16-inches. On items like these the top receiver opening cannot be too much higher than the ball mount or weight capacity and strength will be reduced.
If you use an item like the Malone Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544, which has 7-1/2-inches of space between the two receivers, you will gain several more inches of clearance. Please see the linked photo. You will simply need to use a separate 2-inch ball mount and hitch ball in the lower receiver for towing.
Do please note that use of adapters like this reduces your hitch capacity by 50-percent.
