The Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 75742 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2014 Honda CR-V LX.
I did take a look at the online owner's manual for your Honda CR-V and saw that the maximum trailer weight is 1,500 pounds. As long as you stay below this weight, you can absolutely install this hitch and tow a lightweight trailer. You are correct that this is a pretty simple installation, as the custom hitch will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame to eliminate the need for any drilling. I have attached an installation video on your 2014 CR-V that you can use for reference, along with the written instructions. All of the necessary hardware is included.
In order to tow a trailer, you will also need a trailer wiring harness. For this I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118561. This custom harness will install by plugging into built-in ports located in the rear cargo area behind the driver and passenger side interior trim panels. This will provide you with a 4-Way connector that will connect with and power a trailer's basic signal lights.
I have again attached an installation video that you can check out.
Lastly, you will need a ball mount and hitch ball to pull the trailer. The Curt Ball Mount # D-4 might be a nice option. This will attach to your hitch and offer a rise of 3/4 inch or a drop of 2 inches. You will just add a compatible hitch ball like the 2 inch # 63845 or the 1-7/8 inch # 19260 and the Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3. I have attached a great article that explains how to choose the best ball mount for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection if this particular unit does not have the rise or drop you need.
I have also included a couple articles on trailer towing that you might find helpful.
