Recommended Adapter to Convert 1-1/4 Inch Receiver on Curt 11482 Hitch to 2 Inch Receiver
Question:
Please help me find a 1-1/4inch to 2inch receiver adapter that will best fit in the 1-1/4inch Curt #11482 class 1 hitch. The total weight of the bike rack and the load is less than 100 pounds. Thank you in advance.

For a hitch adapter that will work well with the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11482 that you referenced, I recommend the Brophy # HTAD. This is compatible with Class I hitches and will convert the 1-1/4 inch receiver to a 2 inch receiver that you can use for your bike rack.
Just keep in mind that using this or any similar adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. This means the tongue weight capacity on your Curt hitch will drop to 100 pounds when using the adapter. As long as the combined weight of your bike rack and bikes stays below this limit, this is a great solution.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.
You may also want to add the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 to secure the adapter to your hitch. This will not only lock it to your vehicle but it will also reduce any movement inside the hitch receiver for a quieter, more stable ride.
