If you are wanting to tow a trailer with your 2019 Jeep Cherokee, you will need a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and a ball mount/hitch ball combination.

Starting with the trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # C13171. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your Jeep Cherokee that goes into 2 wheel drive and will use existing holes in its frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide you with a 2 inch receiver and it features a 5,000 pound towing weight capacity. You will also want to check your Jeep's owners manual for its specific ratings, as you will need to follow whichever capacity is lower (the Jeep's or the hitch's).

I have attached an isntallation video that you can use for reference.

If your Jeep does not have the factory tow package, you will need to add a 4-Way wiring harness. For this I recommend the Curt # C56406. This custom harness will install by plugging into factory ports behind the driver and passenger side tail lights. The 4-Way will connect with and power a trailer's basic signal lights.

If you will be towing a trailer with electric brakes, you will also need to install a brake controller like the excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. To install the controller (if you do not have the factory tow package), you will first need to convert the above-mentioned 4-Way to a fully functional 7-Way with the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything necessary to accomplish this along with the additional parts needed to install the brake controller.

If you do have the factory tow package, then all you will need to install a brake controller is the Plug-In Adapter # 3014-P. One end of the adapter plugs into the controller itself and the other end connects to the built-in port beneath the Jeep's dash.

In order to pull a trailer, you will also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I have attached a great article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection. I have also included a couple articles on trailer towing that you might find helpful.
