Replacement Landing Gear for 2011 Heartland Big Country 5th Wheel Trailer  

Question:

I have a 2011 heartland big country rv 38foot . I need to replace the landing gear it want move up or down . Took cap off and bevel gears are turning good, Im thinking its the worm gear or the nut is stripped out. It has a part # on the cap which is vmc900r 393624, which landing gear would work on my RV.

If your landing gear is electric then it could just be a switch or the battery could be bad. Having the battery tested will determine if it is the problem. You can determine if the switch is the problem by applying power directly to the motor; if it works fine then it is likely a problem with the switch. A battery or switch replacement is a lot easier and less expensive than a whole new landing gear system!

But if it turns out that it is neither a switch nor the battery then I agree that it is time to say good bye to the old system. What you have is a Venture system. You can replace it with Lippert system # LC333964, Stromberg-Carlson system # LG-4 (33-1/2 inch tall outer tube) or # LG-3 (29-1/2 inch tall outer tube) depending on the leg height you need.
