I do have a solution for you, but the Curt T-Connector # C55774 that you referenced is not a confirmed fit for your 2012 Nissan Pathfinder.

If you just need the light functions to work on your trailer then what you will want to use is the Hopkins Adapter # 37185 which will convert your 4-Way to a 4-Way and 7-Way.

If you are needing to utilize brakes on your trailer, which is common when they have a 7-Way, you will instead want to install the Tekonsha T-One # 118266. The black plug will install on your Pathfinder as shown on the Xterra installation video. The gray plug will install a little differently though. For the gray plug you will want to cut off that connector as well as your 4-Way connector and then splice the wires color for color. You will have a Red wire which you will simply need to tie up. You can use the mounting bracket # 18138 and no-drill bracket # C57202 to secure your 7-Way.

Should your trailer have brakes you will also need a brake controller. I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because of how easy it is to install and use. The LCD screen makes operating very easy and eliminates the need to remember what codes mean. You will connect this to your Pathfinder under the dash via the Adapter # 3050-P.

I have attached some videos that you can reference as well.
