Replacement Lift Bracket for Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System

Question:

I currently have a Reese dual cam wdh. I am using 1200 trunion bars for a 9k travel trailer with around close to 1000 tongue weight. Upon my return and disconnecting my trailer, I noticed one of the chain lift brackets almost falling off. The metal bracket which holds the set screw had bent from a 90 degree to almost 135 degrees and was barely hanging on. It was a scat thought of that coming off and my trunion bar coming off on the expressway. I was looking at the HD 53892 parts, but they are only rated at 800lbs tongue weight. Would this be sufficient or do I need something stronger? I enclosed a pitcher of the damaged bracket.

The Replacement Lift Brackets with Handle for Reese Weight Distribution Systems # RP6637 is what you want for your Reese Strait-Line dual cam # RP66084. This is the proper replacement for the tongue weight you are referring to. If you just want the single replacement # RP21501 which is rated for 600 lbs is what comes with the unit, so the # 58392 is a stronger bracket rated for 800 lb tongue weight. The head, cam arms, and brackets share the weight, so rest assured these are the proper fit for your application.
