Can I Convert Regular Bunks To Roller Bunks

Question:

I have a Rolco Trailer is it possible to change over to your bunk roller design. The boat is a 24-6 Cobalt 4,500 lbs. There are 6 bunks supporting the boat: Two 4 sections Two 9 3 sections Two 13 1 sections Can you let me know if this is OK and if I can remove the bolsters and just bolt to the same areas as the existing bunks. Also can your bunk rollers adapt to the right angle of the bottom?

Yes, you could convert your Rolco trailer from the wooden bunks to roller bunks. The Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk, part # DL21741, has a universal mount system that attaches directly to either vertical or horizontal positioned bunk boards that should work on your trailer.

You may also be interested in Boat Trailer Roller Bunk Bracket, part # DL21742, for mounting the roller bunks. You will have to install these at the correct angle for your boat hull as they are stationery.

We also have 4 foot sections that you may be interested in, Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk 4 foot, part # DL21740.

I have a 2015 Shorelandr LUV2314 bunk trailer. The bunks are 27" off the ground. I need to drop them by at least 4 inches to launch my boat. Would a conversion to rollers do this? Can this trailer be converted to a roller trailer? I have a 2015 Lund Crossover 1675 with a 115 hp Merc. The rear crossbar is welded and does not pivot.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this on your Shorelandr trailer. You can use the Roller Brackets # DL21742 to get the exact height you need from the frame after removing the bunk boards.
