I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and need to tow a small Uhaul trailer across the country. I have no hitch package. I am looking at the following products: Curt 2inch hitch 13530 wiring not sure?? ball mount C45030 ball 40038 Could you let me know if that looks right / help me put together a cart of the correct items? It sounds like you're on the right track. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13530 is correct for your hybrid 2006 Toyota Highlander. Then the Ball Mount # C45030 and Hitch Ball # 40038 will fit the hitch. You do need to make sure the 1 inch rise or 2-1/4 inch drop of the ball mount is correct with your trailer though. I've linked an article to help you determine this. If it isn't what you need I've also linked our selection of ball mounts that fit your hitch for you to choose from.
You'll also need either a pin and clip like # C21500 or a locking hitch pin like # e98880.
The best wiring harness for your hybrid Highlander with no tow package is # C59236. It's a universal kit that is designed to protect the electrical system of your vehicle. I've linked a video of the harness being installed on a BMW which will be a similar process on your Highlander.
I've also included links to some articles on towing that you might find helpful.
