Recommended Erickson E-Track System for Transporting Motorcycle in Enclosed Trailer

Question:

I have a 6x12 enclosed trailer and am going to use it to haul a motorcycle and several other things. Pervious I had a 5x10 trailer and used a wheel chock and 4 recessed D-Rings to hold the motorcycle in place. Now, I think the e-track is a better way to go for the new trailer. I think the 8 ft sections are best, but I cant decide if itll be best to mount them on the far edges of the inside or move them in 1-2 ft from the walls. I guess I am looking for some advise. thoughts? I also wonder if I even need the full 8 ft it would be nice to have versatility in the future.

Installing the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 in your enclosed trailer is an excellent idea. Along with securing your motorcycle into place, the E-Tracks will provide great versatility to tie down various other cargo items in your trailer.

For your motorcycle, I recommend installing the tracks on either side of the motorcycle to provide multiple tie-down points in order to keep it secure. Then you can use the Erickson E-Track Tie Down Rings # 59131 along with D-Ring Straps # E59143 to secure everything down.

As long as there is adequate support, you can really install the E-Track anywhere in your trailer. and it may ultimately depend on personal preference and what other items you may use the E-Track system for in the future. I do recommend finding a location with the most support, such as over a horizontal support structure that runs the length of the trailer.

I agree with you regarding going with the longer sections of E-Track as long as you have the space available. As you mentioned, this is simply going to give you added versatility down the line for additional, easy tie-down points for various cargo items.

I have attached a few demonstration videos on the products mentioned in this answer for you to check out.
