I want to turn a single axle boat trailer into a dual axle. My trailer presently holds a 1985 Mastercraft. Is this possible? What parts do I need to do this? thank you..

Yes. Turning a single axle trailer into a dual axle trailer is possible. It will require relocating your axle and adding another one as well as welding hangers and adding springs. However, there is an easier option to all of this and that is using the axle-less system from Timbren and bolting them to your frame. The two spindles should split the distance of your current single axle. The axle-less system also gives you greater ground clearance because there is no axle in the middle of the trailer.
For your application I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs - Straight Spindle - 3,500 lbs # A35RS545E and the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Hubs - Straight Spindle - 5 on 4-1/2 # A35RS545. This will give you one axle with trailer brakes as well as one regular axle.
You can use # 10-2-1 for the wiring for the axle with trailer brakes and use the 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # HS381-9000 along with ring terminals # 44-5310A to make a clean connection. I do recommend disconnecting your electrical when entering the water to launch or retrieve your boat to avoid any possible issues, but electric trailer brakes are used on boat trailers more and more.
