The Draw-Tite 2-Inch Class III Max Frame Hitch # 75560 is a confirmed fit for your 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon as long as you do not have the Sport Edition. One of our local customers purchased this hitch for their 2008 Outback and the linked video shows you the entire installation process. I also linked two helpful articles on hitch installation to make your project go more easily.
If you will be towing you will need a wiring harness # 118461 to power your trailer's lights. I also suggest our Ball Mount Kit # 989900 since it includes two sizes of hitch ball, two ball mounts and a pin and clip all together in a handy bag.
