How to Determine Which Ball Mount Will Have Enough Rise for Curt Hitch on a 2005 Chrysler 300c

Thank you for the response , the information you provided was very helpful. After taking measurements from my trailer I am coming up with 15 3/4 inches to the bottom of my coupler to the ground when the trailer deck is level. So that would be a 5.5 inch rise? I am using a 1 7/8 ball , what ball mount would you suggest to accommodate these height differences still keeping in mind the length needed to clear the bumper?

The best way to determine which ball mount is right for your 2005 Chrysler 300c and your trailer is to take a few simple measurements.
Since you don't have the hitch we can see by the video of the Curt # 13465, I've attached, that the hitch receiver is going to be 10-1/4 inches from the ground. You will then want to take a similar measurement from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. Then compute the difference.
If the hitch height is greater than the trailer height, then
•hitch height - trailer height = drop
If the trailer height is greater than the hitch height, then
•trailer height - hitch height = rise
Let's say that your trailer comes out at exactly 12 inches then 12 minus 10-1/4 = 1-3/4 inch rise is needed.
The next thing we know about your vehicle is that the edge of the bumper is 6-3/4 inches away so you will want to get a long enough ball mount to accommodate that length. The # D-26 measures 12-5/8 inches from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole and 8-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the ball platform. Both of these will work for your vehilce's hitch but will only provide a 3/4 inch rise. If you would like to tell me the height measurement you get from your trailer I would be more than happy to find you a ball mount that will work best. Please include the size ball that will work for your coupler as well, two of the most common sizes are 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch diameter.
The wiring harness I recommend for your vehicle is the # 118404. This will provide you with a 4-way plug to power the brake lights and turn signals on your trailer.
