Trailer Hitch Fit for 1995 Chevrolet K3500 with Modified Truck Bed

Question:

Hi. I need the highest possible capacity receiver or even weld-on hitch that will fit a 1995 K3500. The truck came as a cab / chassis originally and was fitted out with a steel flat bed for use as an off-road fire truck. As best I can tell, the truck was built to the highest possible configuration for that year / model. However, it is NOT a HD model. Ive bought from you before. Could you please email me your best recommendations? I tried to attach 3 pictures but dont think it worked. If it will help, I can send you the pictures by return email. Thanks!

At least 2 of your photos came through with the question, thank you for submitting those! Since there have been modifications made to your 1995 Chevrolet K3500, I cannot guarantee that a custom fit hitch for the 1995 K3500 cab/chassis will still fit your truck.

I recommend going with a weld-on trailer hitch. The highest weight capacity hitch that I recommend for your truck is the Draw-Tite Class IV Weld-On Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990. This hitch offers a 2 inch receiver opening and has a Class IV rating. The maximum gross towing capacity is 16,000 pounds and the maximum tongue weight is 1,600 pounds.

This hitch can be used with either the 7 inch brackets # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets # 4916. Determining the correct size bracket for your truck comes down to the amount of space needed to clear other underbed components. The # 41990 hitch measures 44 inches long so you can weld the brackets in the needed location for your vehicle.

I have attached the installation instructions for the # 41990 trailer hitch for you.
