Can a 1997 Ford Ranger accept trailer light loading with no overload issues?

The recommended trailer wiring harness for your 1997 Ford Ranger is the Tow Ready # 118325. As long as you don't exceed the amperage ratings of the wiring (Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit and Tail lights: 4 amps per circuit), you would be just fine.
