Exhaust on 2011 Ford Taurus Rattles Against Trailer Hitch Going Over Bumps
Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 Ford Taurus limited with single exhaust. Ive read that after installing the hitch, the exhaust pipe will hit and rattle every time you hit a bump. Is this true? How can I prevent this because I live on a gravel road with lots of bumps.

Expert Reply:
The exhaust on any given vehicle could be able to move enough to make contact with a trailer hitch. If this happens there are some things that you can do to correct the issue. We have a help article on the subject that I have linked for you which includes the various ways that the issue can be resolved.
If you go with Curt hitch # C12296 and plan on doing some towing then you can use ball mount # C45518. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # 118599.
