The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.It fit just like a factory installed product. It took a little effort to lower the tailpipe though. The installation would have been near impossible if the pipe was not lowered and then reattached after the hitch was bolted on. The wiring plug recomended fit and functions perfect also. I used it when pulling my ATV to mountains.
Took about 30 minutes. All had to be done is drop the spar tire down. Ordered on Tuesday got it Thursday
Hitch was delivered promptly and packaged well. All parts necessary for installation were included, and excellent instructions were provided. It was a 15 minute install. Nothing to it. Excellent product.
Decided to go fishing again after 30 years so have been working to make that happen. I am driving my son's old college vehicle, a 2001 Nissan Xterra. Needed a trailer hitch and wiring to pull my little boat and trailer. Called and got Chris W. She was very helpful in helping me figure out what exactly I needed. It had everything I needed to install it. It wasn't super easy, but there really weren't any surprises, either. It fits perfectly (2003 Nissan Xterra) and works fine with no "play."

Great product! Solid, easy install. Works perfectly even after a year of abuse.
As advertised, however, you have to have a very small spare tire for it to fit.

This hitch receiver should fit your 2001 Nissan Xterra. If you are having trouble with the weld nuts, they probably need cleaned since this is an older vehicle. Here is how you do it:
